A hen in Ottawa’s eastern outskirts has squeezed out an egg as heavy as a baseball.
The egg, which has a mass of 143 grams almost three times the size of a standard medium egg and within the 141-148 g range for a Major League Baseball ball was laid Friday by a red shaver hen on [...]

Shamefaced, Marie-Anne admitted that in a moment of over exuberance, Megan had inadvertently consumed one of Kate’s costly fayoumis. This disaster propelled her inexorably, to Salisbury Market, where top price (£2.00) was paid (amongst other purchases) for a cockerel (to the delight of other bidders). The cockerel bought to improve the egg laying capacity in Frogham [...]

Ed?) or the infamous Chopper Kate de Bunch of Hen House fame. Bigsy (thanks Ronald) is now showing off in front of the residential water fowl. For [...]

Gordon and two were missing at round-up Monday night. Two bereft sad hens were in the Explorer Chicken Centre. Using the fabulous MVP Chicken Finder (a gift/ bribe from a grateful reader) Gordon was found in an apple tree. Of the two venerable hens … no sign! Three eggs, undoubtably their last, were in the [...]

Sir, It is with some desperation that I turn to your learned journal, noting that the theme of ‘chicken’ runs through it’s discussion both locally and on the othjer side of the world. A brief background and ‘progress to date’ may set the scene and any helpful suggestions (or recipes) would be mostappreciated: Hilary, Nancy [...]

A cockerel often distracts as it is difficult to eat your own egg with an importunate male clutching your neck feathers in his beak as he rides your back and thrusts at your bottom or try installing a t.v. or move to Blissford, then if all else fails, you can alert the High Sheriff of [...]

The road valve seems to have failed for the Explorer Chicken Centre water point and after informing B & H, they sent a man who thoughtfully sprayed the valve blue. The New Blue Valve can now be enjoyed by all those passing Brook Farm.
